Johnson, David Ellis Anton

August 17, 1934 – October 19, 2018

Born on 17 August, 1934 in Bournemouth England David Ellis Anton Johnson passed away on October 19, 2018 following a 6-month struggle with mesothelioma and heart failure. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus and free from pain. He lived at Piccadilly Terrace for the past three years devoted to his beloved wife Margaret of 64 years.

He led a full life with many achieved dreams. His biggest dream was to immigrate to Canada from Great Britain with his wife and small children, which he did in 1966. He worked as a pipefitter for various employers throughout his career. They lived in Sarnia Ontario and Edmonton Alberta before moving to Kamloops BC, where another one of his dreams was fulfilled. He built a 44 foot steel sailboat in his backyard! It took 7 years to complete and after moving it to Victoria they lived aboard for 8 years. He made another dream come true when he retired to Notch Hill at age 57 and they started a hobby farm. He shared his love of all the animals with everyone especially his grandchildren. They had rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, goats and pigs. Through the years he also had many pet dogs and cats.

David was a wonderful man with a warm smile, a kind heart and a sense of humour and he always had time to visit and talk with the residents at Piccadilly Terrace.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Paul (Laura), daughter Christine (Dave), son Stephen (Robin), grandchildren Gregory (Christina), Amy (Curtis), Angela (Corey), Brian (Amanda), Ryan and great grandchildren Nathalie, Cam, Megan and Zoe. He was a wonderful brother to his two sisters Pat and Pauline, both of whom he helped raise, and a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews.
